That did it. Thanks! What's the difference? Is it the streaming protocol?

The url uses https:// and libav is probably compiled without SSL support. Homebrew doesn't enable it by default, you have to install it with --with-openssl or --with-gnutls (I think that used to be also the case for ffmpeg, but it's enabled by default in the last versions).
