I saw the fix to download VEVO videos on another post here, so i tried it and it works for VEVO but when you try to download any youtube videos from this K-pop channel http://www.youtube.com/user/LOENENT I can't, i get a UnicodeEncodeError?

Ok, check you have the newest version and retry it, when you find a video that raise this error retry the download, it usually succeed the second time (sorry we can't fix it if we can't reproduce it continuously)
Also I can't reproduce the first error (maybe the problem is that the video contains Unicode chars), try with --restrict-filenames and see if it fixes the error.

Please post only one error per bug report. If you have multiple problems, simply open multiple bugs. Thanks! I'll just discuss the first error here, the second one seems to be #920.

This looks like you have configured Windows with a non-UTF-8 character set, which promptly fails to encode. Which version and locale of Windows are you using?

@phihag and @jaimeMF yes i have confirmed the problem wasn't the downloader or the youtube channel but the korean hangul in the title of the videos.

thanks again :)

@FiloSottile This hasn't been solved yet (--restrict-filenames is just a workaround), seems like an error in the Windows output. Reopening.

@phihag someone in issue #920 posted that they can't download this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCSfaHeIinE its from the same channel LOENENT they said it fails 100%

So I tried it and it fails with and without (--restrict-filenames)

I think they changed youtube some more, the noticeable changes are the video title font and the share tab now has 10 tags to any of those 10 sites you might want to share the video to.

i don't know if that's why this isn't working anymore from yesterday

sorry for too many posts

@LAP2008 The signature warning issues are different. Again, please post these issues somewhere else (in #946 ).

@LAP2008 please don't post the issues with the signatures in this thread, first update with youtube-dl -U and if it raises the same error with the signature, open a new issue. This issue is about the problem with the UnicodeEncodeError
