youtube-dl is unable to extract videos from m2m.tv. Tested with 2016.06.03. I'd like to request support.

Example URL of a video:
https://m2m.tv/watch/vivienne-westwood-do-it-yourself/films

Index of available videos:
https://m2m.tv/films

Thanks!

"Vivienne Westwood: Do It Yourself!" looks like a copyrighted product: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1946507/. Is M2M the copyright holder or does it buy redistribution rights?

M2M appears to license their content from the copyright holders. If the provided example is a stumbling block, please use one of the others available at https://m2m.tv/films. There are hundreds.

As an aside, realistically speaking, nearly everything that youtube-dl is used to download is a copyrighted product. I refer you as an example to the commercial content hosted on xhamster that this application will happily download.

We don't block copyrighted products, but websites without redistribution rights. Some examples are sites that collect pirated copies of movies. A counterexample is that if a website allow user to upload videos, all uploaded videos are allowed to be distributed on that site, even if the uploader may not have the redistribution rights. Some other examples include NBC and iQiyi. Without doubt they have rights over videos they produce.

As you have mentioned M2M have licenses, I'll mark this ticket as a valid request. It would be better to have some concrete descriptions (M2M claims, news, etc.).

OK seems M2M has updated their website. From https://m2m.tv/terms:

The content on these Services, such as text, graphics, images, photographs, illustrations, trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, information obtained from WME|IMG licensors, and other materials (“Contents”) is protected by copyright under both United States and foreign laws. Title to the Contents remains with WME|IMG.

This is a valid site support request.
