I would much prefer that we backport to support Python 2.6, or even Python 2.4 (EPEL 5)

@definite Please have a look. Travis has dropped Python 2.4 travis-ci/travis-ci#485 and Python 2.5 travis-ci/travis-ci#1668 support, hence failed to add it in .travis.yml
