Hello,

Since a few days some of our Win10 computers in the AD with roaming profiles enabled usualy log's in and out very slowly. We tried to rejoin these to the AD and leave and join process very slow. Once we can get an error message that informed about the RPC server not available. Checking the log, everything seems fine on the Samba Zentyal side. We use a backup that imported from an old, Zentyal 4.2 install but with this we don't have any problem in the previous time.
We've got gigabit ethernet network but if I check the network traffic and other resource on the server on log in or log out, we not reach more than 500--600 Kbps.
When the computer left from the AD, it is very fast. And if the login process finished once in the AD, the computer fast too.
When shutting down at logout, computer writing the logging out for a few minutes and it works with dark screen for long minutes.
So everything fine if we don't need to restart, relogin or rejoin the computer.

To Reproduce

  1. Join with a Win10 computer to the AD.
  2. Try to log in, log out, leave and join to the AD. Everything works well but very slow. A logout process about 30--150 minutes with small, maximum 1--2 GB profile.

Expected behavior
A little faster speed.

Zentyal OS (please complete the following information):

  • Version: 7.0.5
  • Version of the module which has the bug Domain controller, latest
  • Modules installed DNS, DHCP, firewall, VPN, domain controller

Other OS (please complete the following information):

  • OS: On server Ubuntu 20.04.6 with latest software installed. On client Windows 10 Pro
  • Version: Build 19045.2846

Additional context
Only one network with gigabit switches. Every computer has an i5 CPU, SSD and 4 GB of RAM. Server has 128GB of RAM, two Xeon CPUs and RAID10 HDDs. When I check the top command, the VA usualy 0.0 and CPU usage low, 1--2%. So I think that no resource problem on the server.

I gladly provide any information if neccessary. I don't know what might be helpful to examine the situation.

Thanks!

Roaming profiles have always been slow when a lot of user data needs to be synchronized, same issue with Windows Server. We stopped using them a long time ago.
