Reported by Ramesh Thomas:

Freedom boards have flash which can be used to support Zephyr file system. Add flash based disk access to interface with the file system top layer to enable the support.

(Imported from Jira ZEP-1339)

Ramesh Thomas Can u provide more detail about this? I see that the FlexNVM (on soc flash) is already supported.

I had captured this based on a requirement that was brought up by Inaky Perez-Gonzalez . He wanted to run automated tests on multiple hardware/architecture. Currently disk access layers for file system have been implemented for the winbond flash memory on arduino_101 and ramdisk. The requirement was to add such a disk access layer to support the flash on the freedom board.

You can check with Anas Nashif if this is still a requirement and whether adding support in other boards/architectures have a higher priority.

Can we close this story, or assign to someone on ARM side?
I don't think we have resources to work on this, are there BUs asking for it?

we will wait for NFFS to be enabled on this once it lands for 1.10, no need for this.
