We should definitely not lowercase the first letter when preceded by punctuation (single or double quote, ¡¿).
We could consider uppercasing the first letter after colon (as required in APA), though that's not universally required e.g. in Spanish and French.

This should not simple be "considered," it should be fixed. It is totally incorrect at the moment and should be fixed as soon as possible. Is there any sense of when exactly this might happen? The 1.0.1 specification already seems to have this integrated: http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#title-case-conversion Unfortunately, the latter specification excludes other punctuation. It should also have "?" and "!" (at least).

Is it possible to use it now?

This ticket is about the Transform Title context menu, not CSL.

(for CSL styles, we strongly recommend to not use text-case="sentence" at all since it will e.g. lowercase proper names. For journals requiring sentence case, set no case on titles)

For convenience, stable links to the relevant code, for reference only: capitalizeTitle; and sentence.

(From the subject heading it looks like the first might not be affected, but just in case).

Is there a reason this was closed, I don't see the fix anywhere and Zotero still makes the first character after a colon (for subtitles) lowercase (incorrectly). Am I missing something?

There is work in progress to address this. Please wait for a few more days.

also this isn't closed. It was referred to in another issue that was closed as a duplicate of this. Note the green "Open" at the top right.

Yes, but that linked issue is closed too, I think.

You're misunderstanding. That thread was a duplicate of this one, and that one was closed. This one is still open.
