I am a member of a small team using Zulip to collaborate on development issues. Some of our posts are long and detailed; e.g. project workflow descriptions. In these cases it would be extremely useful for us to be able to edit each others' posts, as ideas mature. While for many communities this would obviously not be a desirable feature, for us --- a small team with complete trust between the members --- it would be hugely convenient, as at the moment it's only the person who writes the workflow description who can edit it, with the other team members who have ideas for improvements unable to write them in directly. This is inefficient, and may make us move away from Zulip going forward, which is a pain since we love the environment otherwise.
Therefore, I request a setting at the organization level that allows users (or perhaps a trusted subset of "administrators", although that would not be necessary in our case) to edit all posts.

@jamievicary thanks for the feedback. I would expect most users to use an out-of-band tool like Dropbox Paper for this sort of jointly editable message use case, but I can see the use case for doing this in Zulip.
There are security model and data model issues to think about here; given that this hasn't been something we've been seeing a lot of requests for, I expect the core time is unlikely to work on it. If anyone is interested in investing time into building such an option, I can provide support and advice for doing so.
I am interested and would like to try this.
Without realtime Editing facilities we could do with Locking (especially when tiyping event notification is done in zulip , we can notify user that , user xxx is editing the messae , and lock other users from editing the message.
for realtime documenting use case - base use Googledoc/Paper
