Welcome to the face-shields-corona-2020 wiki!
This shield uses thin PetG sheet (0.2mm) to protect your eyes and mouth. However, it is not tested yet in clinical envinronments and you cannot rely completely on it's effectivity. It will protect you against most large droplets but it will still be necessary to use precautions such as washing hands, eventually using a mouth cap, avoiding touching your face and other recommended measurements against contamination
The long band is the head band, It can be adjusted to your size. The short band supports the shield. Connect the shield to the short band by sliding the band through the slots in the face shield. The headband and support band are connected with rivets (nylon rivet) or nut through one hole in either band. Distance of shield to face can be adjusted by choosing different holes. With a tye-rap that loops through both holes bands can also be connected but in that case no adjustment or pivoting is possible.
To connect the lasercut 1 mm thick bands use a rivet or a nut. This part is very effective: https://www.essentracomponents.com/nl-nl/p/push-in-rivets-arrow-clip/mmb-210-01 You can also use a 4 mm x 8 bolt, self locking nut and 2 washers, but this requires more adjusting and takes more time than with the push-in rivet.
Exchanging shield: pull the band loose from the rivet or unscrew one of the nuts, remove old shield, add a new one, reconnect.
If you do not have the appropriate parts to make a pivoting shield you can still connect it, but it will not pivot and changing the shield takes more time. Connect head band and shield support (preferably with 4.5 or 4.8 mm) tye-raps looped through both holes which will prevent the mask to rotate. Pull the tye-raps tightly.
Exchanging the shield: cut one of the tye-raps, change the shield and connect again with a new tye-rap.
Clean the shield with soap and water. If necessary (large droplets or eventually blood droplets) clean with 70% alcohol
