Voting seemingly hangs when done from pop-up

Whenever I try to vote from either the add-on pop-up or the on-site pop-up (after clicking the SponsorBlock icon in the player), the message gets stuck on “Loading...”

Voting from the skip-pop-ups within the player works fine, however.

Been experiencing this as well for a while - the network request doesn't even intialize

The network request does fire, just from the background script, which is why the request doesn't show in the network monitor on player site.
It even gets a 200, but the response never reaches the content script. And I can't figure out why.

This is not fixed in 5.5.5.
Is there anything we can do to help reproduce?
