DISSENTER IS DEAD?

So is Dissenter dead?

It was one of the last ways to be able to transform all the ONE-WAY conversations on the interwebz into actual two-way public discourse.

What happened?

It's not maintained but it still works in Chrome, Edge(using the chrome extension) and other chromium browsers

If you cannot log into the extension, right click the log in button and open in new tab. It will open "Gab Trends" (https://trends.gab.com/) Then log into that webpage, you'll be then auto-logged into the extension.

I think it's dead. The browser too. Not updated in years, dissenter.com reroutes to gab trends, no way to download it other than coming here to github. Rather sad, I really liked this thing.

I wondered what happened to this browser. No big loss. It was a browser for dummies and losers that want "freedom" expressing their "beliefs", catering to people with certain philosophies, etc.. Ultimately, it was a glorified place of echo chamber(s), and a waste of time.

i loved it because it transformed one-way conversations into TWO-way conversations.

It was also very useful because on most scam pages there'd be someone's comment warning against it. Even on popular youtube vids. Since this is open source, we should get some people to fork this and revive it. I don't care about pseudo politics, but I care about people expressing their freedom of speech whenever, even if they state things that ruffle my feathers. Like most people say: "Don't like it, don't use it".

The issue with the plugin as of now is that main server is basically dead, I guess that's the issue with using non-federated main servers. People could've simply switched to another node instead of letting this whole thing die.

I guess we could reboot this and provide some kind of way that the user could provide a server of thier choice?

there's literally nothing out there like this... it'd be nice to be able to turn all the one-way-conversations out there into two-way discussions.
