Split points change when files created

I have spent hours meticulously inserting split points into a ~100MB MP3 file of our band practice to cut out the banter between songs. I fine tune the split points while in the main timeline view. But when I go to create the files, the split points have changed such that the first 10-30 seconds of each song are cut off--in the created files, the music picks up well after the song has begun. Again, I move the split points to the exact spot I want on the main view, but the files created do not match those points.
