Wrong node?

I've experimented some issue with g-p 
I'm trying to separate with :

<ul>
  <li style="clear:both"></li>
</ul>

<ul>
  <li></li>
  <li class="last"></li>
  <li style="clear:both"></li>
  <li></li>
</ul>

Would that be a good practice?
