Feature Request: Browser Plugin

What

Maybe I am wrong here, but is it possible to have a browser plugin, that knows, where my fediverse profile is?
It would be cool to have easy like and share buttons and comment fields that are connected to my Mastodon-profile, so that it works as easy as with Facebook.

Why

I know, the problem is, that a website can't know, where my Mastodon profile is. Thus it can't tell, where to send the like.

How

But if I have a browser plugin that has contains this information - wouldn't that make it possible for a website to request this data?

That feels a bit beyond the scope of this plugin, unless I misunderstand something?

When commenting, the federated reply block saves the profile information if the user so chooses, that should get you pretty close on a per-site basis.

Yeah, this is probably out of scope for the WordPress-ActivityPub plugin. However, if someone wanted to write a browser plugin for connecting your Fediverse account and adding share / comment functionality using Mastodon's API (which many platforms use) a browser plugin like this might be usable with WordPress as well.

Right, Enable Mastodon Apps maps those API endpoints to WordPress endpoints.

I'll close this issue for now as this is probably not something we'd get to any time soon.
