To install ipympl with conda:

conda install -c conda-forge ipympl

If using the Notebook

conda install -c conda-forge widgetsnbextension

conda install nodejs jupyter labextension install @jupyter-widgets/jupyterlab-manager jupyter labextension install jupyter-matplotlib
