Can't use WinUI3/WindowsAppSDK with WebView2 Nuget packages

Unable to build sample project "Getting started with WebView2 in WinUI3 (Preview)" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/gettingstarted/winui after adding reference to WebView2

Build failed with error:
Error WMC1006 Cannot resolve Assembly or Windows Metadata file 'Type universe cannot resolve assembly: System.Windows.Forms, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089.'

Hi @alexandrevk, thank you for the comment. The build error is referring to WinForms, which isn't part of the WinUI package. Could you double check to make sure you are using the WinUI project template?

A couple other steps I recommend:

• Ensure you didn't copy/paste from a WinForms Sample.
• Double check the setup (step 1 in the guide).
• Ensure you have the correct Visual Studio Preview. ( prerequisite section of the guide).

Please let me know if you are still facing this issue. We can try some additional steps.

Hi, this issue was resolved using VS preview 16.8. But it is consistent for VS Enterprise 16.7 Thanks

Hi, I'm facing the same issue with:

• Visual Studio Professional 2019 Preview - Version 16.9.0 Preview 3.0
• WinUI template as suggested in the guide
• NuGet package Microsoft.Web.WebView2.1.0.721-prerelease

The issue is not present if I don't install the NuGet package and use the installed WebView2 library but then I can not use the features I require.
