I want Playwright to scroll the web page to load more content, but it doesn't work now.

Looking at the accessibility tree of the page, it's missing a "Load more" button to trigger loading more content. So scrolling is the only way of triggering a load. This makes the page inaccessible to users with assistive technologies, and by extension also to Playwright/MCP. If you have control over the website you'd like to load more content on, i'd recommend you add a hidden button like that. See https://bsky.app/ for how they do that.

@Skn0tt Yes, based on accessibility, there is really no way to find a button to load more. I agree with your idea. But I think if there is a tool in playwright/mcp to trigger scrolling, I might be able to actively tell llm to load more by scrolling.

A human actively telling it how to do something is bankruptcy for an AI Agent, so I don't think we should design for that. The question is whether the LLM can figure out by itself that some sites need scrolling!

@Skn0tt I think that for people who rely on accessibility, if they know that they are visiting this website and that this website is scrolling, they can tell the agent to operate to achieve the purpose even if the accessibility information does not provide a way. So can we reconsider it?

Playwright MCP itself relies on the accessibility tree, not the user. That's unless you enable --vision mode, but most models don't like that.

We'll definitely consider scrolling - maybe it even makes sense to scroll around the page automatically without the model intending to.

Hey if you dont need precise scrolling like me, try this, it worked for me:

We have dashboards with various tiles and tiles are only loaded if we scroll down on the page.
