@freddyboy1974 The installer is a ZIP file, with a nested InnoSetup EXE installer. The nested installer does NOT support silent installation.

Updating manifests with wingetcreate.exe version 1.5.3.0 using the ZIP installer URL will crash the creator.

Download and extract the ZIP file on my own and provide a "localhost" URL (for example, using python3 -m http.server) for the nested EXE installer can solve this problem. Installer type can be inffered correctly and the file is hashable.

Testing the manifests with Windows Sandbox using Tools/Sandbox.ps1 will cause the following problem, which will block the installation process.

Note

Windows Sandbox is using the latest stable release of winget.exe, which is version v1.6.2771 at the moment. But Azure pipelines are configured to use client version v1.4.x according to #121663 (comment).

Why is that? Could Azure pipelines upgrade to client version v1.6? Or downgrade Tools/SandboxTest.ps1 and ask contributors testing their ready-for-review manifests locally using client version v1.4?

The download for version 8.0.1 is a direct .exe (no longer inside a ZIP), so there's progress on that front.

However, skimming the setup for version 8.0.1, it appears that Samsung's "Rapid Mode" (RAPID: Real-time Accelerated Processing of I/O Data) is likely a blocker (or at least a stumbling block) for silent upgrades. Per the wizard (emphasis mine):

RAPID mode is in enabled state, RAPID mode disable is recommended before Magician upgrade. If you wish to disable RAPID mode manually, click 'Cancel'.
Continuing with upgrading Magician will involve disabling RAPID
followed by a system reboot. Please save your work then click 'OK' to continue.

"The newest, and fastest NVMe drives from Samsung" neither need nor support RAPID, but I don't think winget can reasonably detect the system's RAPID status. At best, maybe there's an installer flag to error out if it detects Rapid Mode?

And secondly, there's a GDPR-related prompt:
