In the mother of all demos in 1968 Doug Engelbart was able to superimpose code windows over a live video feed of collaborators. A bunch of former Atom users very much wanted this feature, but it seemed impossible to do performantly on that platform. Let's make this magical feature from 1968 a reality in 2023!

Speaking of Doug, I would highly recommend reading Authorship Provisions in Augment in which he lays out a deep linking model that distinguished been linking to a particular statement irrespectively of where it might eventually be moved within a hierarchical document vs. linking to a given position within such a the hierarchy regardless of what it might contain at the time it is dereferenced.
