Error Host validation failed. See logs for more details

Hi everyone

I am getting this error

I have tried so much and spent hours trying to resolve it. If someone can give any guidance that would be very awesome and i appreciate any input.

Background

I have installed homepage on my truenas scale server. Heres the settings ive used:

Whats happening is it loads on the IP:port saying "Host validation failed. See logs for more details.". Ive checked the logs which suggested "HOMEPAGE_ALLOWED_HOSTS environment variable to allow requests from this host / port." which i have done

When i go to the port, if i hold down the enter button, i can see the homepage webui behind the error message. Has anyone had this before? Additionally there is no webui button

Ive spent hours configuring the install page and googling this issue to no avail

Just a quick note about environment variables. I have tried a multitude of variations on this. Ive now set it back to 192.168.4.54:8080 and it behaves the same way

You do not need localhost or the 127 loopback address. If you are accessing your installation via IP that is all you need. If the logs say the same thing when you put in 192.168.4.54:8080 then you haven’t set it correctly, it’s as simple as that

Please change it to exactly that and post the logs after re-creating the container

I don’t need a video, the logs are enough proof that you did not correctly set the env to the value in the logs.

In normal docker you need to recreate a container, not just restart it, when you change env. It looks like you’re using truenas or something I don’t know but you’ll need to figure that part out. If you open a shell inside the container and run printenv you’ll see what environment variables you’ve set

I ditched the truenas apps version and have installed dockge and have tried on there. Solved some problems but brought up new ones. As you can tell im new to this haha. i appreciate any advice
