User Experience:

Visually impaired people who depend on screen reader users will not get information about the results displayed due to which the user will not be able to navigate or perform any action with ease.

Note: Login Credentials must not be provided within the bug.

Pre-requisite:

Azure database should be installed from extensions in VS code.

Repro Steps

  1. Open VS Code and navigate to azure databases button present on right pane.
  2. Navigate to anyone of the resource and expand it. Expand a database. Right click on any collection and select "Open Query editor(Preview)".
  3. Query editor screen appears. Run any sample query. Data in table appears under results tab.
  4. Navigate through all controls of the results tab including running the query.
  5. Verify if the screen reader does not announce any information and remains silent when "Run query" is selected the timer updates till results are displayed.

Actual Result:

When "Run query" is selected the timer updates till results are displayed but the screen reader does not announce any information and remains silent.

Observation: Same issue exists with both NVDA and JAWS. Both the screen readers only remain silent and doesn’t announce any information when error appears.

Expected Result:

When "Run query" is selected, the screen reader should either announce the timer information of when the results are displayed or the count of results displayed once the loading is completed.
