From #246560:

Now I wonder what the ideal setting would be for zenMode. We could do one of the following to options:

  • zenMode.hideActivityBar: Enabling will cause the activity bar to hide no matter if it is default, top or bottom.
  • zenMode.activityBarLocation: Allows to specify the position of the activity bar when in zen mode. This would allow to have default position when not in zen mode and top position when in zen mode.

zenMode.activityBarLocation

I guess this makes more sense probably

Maybe an "inherit" parameter would also make sense?
