PointerDevice.GetPointerDevice() fails

Windows.Devices.Input.PointerDevice.GetPointerDevice(uint id) fails in WASDK, it works correctly in UWP.

Is this likely to be fixed, and is there a work around we can use? For us this is an important API, and it is preventing us from migrating from UWP to WASDK.

I would suggest that you provide more information on what you are doing here. Specifically how you are calling this and how it is failing.

PointerDevice.GetPointerDevice works perfectly fine in desktop applications. WinUI 3 applications are just desktop applications with the WinUI 3 library running in them. But if you want a specific example:

This obtained the PointerDevice without issue from the ID provided by WinUI 3. I would have to double check touch specifically.

Ahh, apologies, I was trying:

PointerDevice device = PointerDevice.GetPointerDevice(e.GetCurrentPoint((UIElement)sender).PointerId);

rather than:

PointerDevice device = PointerDevice.GetPointerDevice(e.Pointer.PointerId);

It is a bit confusing that there are 2 ids with the same name!

Actually PointerDevice.GetPointerDevice(e.Pointer.PointerId); only works when using a mouse. Using stylus or touch I get the exception "The parameter is incorrect. Failed to get pointer information."
