Search is slow when first searching for something

Steps to Reproduce:

easiest to repro after a reboot

1. type out a string in search that will get hits on its substrings, like chateditingnotebook or notebookWorking

🐛 it finds some results as you type, then pauses for a long time, then seems to iterate through a bunch of results from other substrings before finally getting to the results for the complete search string

I've noticed this same problem and opened my own issue here #251170.

Please cancel the previous search if any new input is detected.
