I have a 16 GB version of the Pi, some say that the 'stepping' has changed compared to other Pi units.
And that the affected device can be recognized by the fact that the processors are marked with 2712ZPKFSB00D0T instead of 2712ZPKFSB00C1T. (Forum discussing this: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=384065)
They state that the 'kernel + mesa etc' need to be updated regarding Fyde OS. The preview FydeOS that did boot through USB had a 6.6 Kernel level.
I am aware that FydeOS and Chromium are not the same but the information might still be useful.
