Break down the howto guide into a simpler step by step

The current howto is quite a wall of text and, judging by some discord questions, not 100% effective.

I suggest we break it into a smaller flowchart or step-by-step style guide where the user follows along.

I'm happy to take a crack at it sometime soon

visual hierarchy is important for breaking up a wall of text, so bolding step titles and making sure you can pretty much just skim the article and click the colorful stuff should be a goal
