Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm frustrated with the inconsistent character spacing in Hyper terminal, especially when using monospaced fonts. The spacing often looks uneven or slightly off, which impacts readability and the overall developer experience.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like Hyper to improve font rendering and spacing accuracy, ensuring that monospaced fonts are rendered with consistent character widths and proper alignment. Ideally, it should match the rendering quality of terminals like iTerm2 or Alacritty.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I’ve tried adjusting the font size, switching to different monospaced fonts (like Fira Code, JetBrains Mono, or Menlo), and tweaking CSS in .hyper.js, but none of these fully resolve the spacing issue. I’ve also considered switching to another terminal altogether, but I’d prefer to keep using Hyper if this can be improved.
Additional context
This issue is especially noticeable with ligatures or when displaying tables, code alignment, or ASCII diagrams. Screenshots and examples can be provided upon request. It would also be great to have an official list of fonts and settings known to work well with Hyper.
