Hi
Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have a solution using aspire and when the dashboard runs I get the following (Windows 11)

warn: Aspire.Hosting.Dcp.DcpHost[0]
Container runtime 'docker' was found but appears to be unhealthy. Ensure that Docker is running and that the Docker daemon is accessible. If Resource Saver mode is enabled, containers may not run. For more information, visit: https://docs.docker.com/desktop/use-desktop/resource-saver/

in this solution I have an AzureFunction Project -

Is it why is complaining?
I have docker running - but not familar with docker. but I cannot seem to check and know how "Ensure that Docker is running and that the Docker daemon is accessible."

any suggestions?

Did you check resource saver mode? What does your docker desktop look like? Do you see the funcstorage container in there?

Hi David appreciate your time, I honestly didnt even know that docker was a requirement to run aspire. There is some knowledge gap on my part.

I have disabled "Enable Resource saver - see pic below -but apart from that - I dont know what I am doing with docker . I cannot see funcstorage there.

If I remove below line of code - it dissapears but my functions dissapears too

builder.AddAzureFunctionsProject<Projects.MyCompany_AzFunctions>("MyCompany-azfunctions")
    .WithEnvironment("AzureWebJobsStorage", builder.Configuration["AzureWebJobsStorage"])
     .WithReference(secrets);

Also if helps "AzureWebJobsStorage" has a real connection string in appsettings.development.json

I didnt think docker was required , but somehow the above code triggers the docker requirement.. What Am I missing?

Yes docker (or another container runtime) is a requirement to run most dependencies using aspire. We run the azure storage emulator (azurite) in a container. You don’t need to set AzureWebjobsStorage explicitly. This is what the func storage resource is in the dashboard.

if you navigate to the containers view, the storage container should be there running.

I added this code below so that when we deployed (azure Pipeline) - it also deployed the azFunction..

if I remove it than I guess the azFunction will no longer deployed... when I look at Docker Desktop running and go to containers I see nothing and I know that this is my problem.. so somehow aspire did not add it or Am i supposed to add it manually and how. Looking to a tutorial on how to add it or am I missing something?

IT's automatic. When you add an azure functions project, it will automatically handle the storage resource required. Are there any errors in the console output?

In the console logs I get below - I made sure that Docker desktop is run as an administrator and then launched aspire and still the same. Wondering if our company infrastructure is blocking it - as whenver we need to install something we get to enter an admin password...

Guess what on my personal laptop just worked but doesnt on my work one. something is blocking it and I need to tell the IT guys, but not sure they would have a clue :) I need to be precise what I ask..

The error from the container runtime check was: error during connect: in the default daemon configuration on Windows, the docker client must be run with elevated privileges to connect: Get "http://%2F%2F.%2Fpipe%2Fdocker_engine/v1.49/containers/json?limit=1": open //./pipe/docker_engine: The system cannot find the file specified.
