Description
Since the change for #699, the Temurin Alpine images are tied to specific releases of Alpine (eg currently 3.20 and 3.21), so new Alpine releases require updates on the Adoptium side instead of happening automatically.
Alpine 3.22 was just released, so it would be great to bring the https://hub.docker.com/_/eclipse-temurin/tags?name=alpine images up to date. (In related news, Alpine 3.18 reached end of support a few weeks ago, but it isn't used in Adoptium images. Alpine 3.20's EOL is 2026-04-01, followed by 3.21 six months later: 2026-11-01.)
Note that Alpine doesn't have LTS releases AFAIK, just ordinary releases every 6 months. This page shows the past release schedule and planned end of support dates: https://alpinelinux.org/releases/
To see where this is going, it's probably worth noting that Alpine generally keeps 4 releases in support (one release every 6 months, supported for 2 years) - or 3 when a new release is about to come out.
