About Me

Highly motivated Software Engineer with a proven ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technologies. Experienced in both backend and frontend development, with a strong specialization in Java. Adept at delivering robust and scalable software solutions, building microservices, and ensuring high code quality. Possessing a solid understanding of the full software development life cycle and committed to continuous learning and improvement. Oracle Certified Java SE 17 Professional Developer.

In April 2021, I began exploration of a career change with self-directed computer science studies, completing 20+ courses within a year. Driven by a newly found passion for software engineering, I completed a rigorous 9-month full-time Backend Development program at . This intensive bootcamp accelerated my career transition, equipping me with a strong foundation in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and AWS services (DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway). Through hands-on projects, I gained practical experience in database management, API development, and cloud deployment. I honed my skills in Agile methodologies, version control with Git, and collaborative development practices, preparing me for a successful career in software engineering.

At Silicon Mountain Technologies, I spent two years contributing to critical government projects for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, U.S. Space Force, and U.S. Air Force. My work involved developing and optimizing in over 20+ microservices using Java and Spring Boot, implementing comprehensive unit testing to achieve 90%+ code coverage, and building scalable PySpark data pipelines that processed millions of records. I also configured Kong gateway services for Kubernetes environments, programmed basic user interfaces with React, and automated data ingestion processes, saving significant manual effort. My experience includes leveraging Palantir Foundry for advanced data analysis and 3D geospatial mapping, demonstrating my expertise in cutting-edge technologies and impactful solutions.

I’m interested 👀 in the great outdoors; mountain biking 🚵‍♂️, hiking 🥾, camping ⛺, snowboarding 🏂, and climbing 🧗‍♂️.
