What's confusing about this lesson?

The 2nd paragraph starts with

But when we're trying to read the data itself

However it is not clear, what data "the data" is referring to. The preceding paragraph talks about content, the "C" in CID. So far my understanding of a "CID" is that it is a self-describing hash over an arbitrary binary blob with information about the content-type of this blob.

I came here after reading https://docs.ipfs.tech/concepts/content-addressing/#how-cids-are-created

Additionally the dag-pb codec is not in the table suggested in this paragraph:

Multicodec supports many different types of encoding, and each has its own short codec identifier, as shown in the complete table.

What additional context could we provide to help you succeed?
