I think this is an instance of a more widespread issue where determining the position of something that isn't a straightforward callPackage can get lost at the wrong layer of indirection. For example, packages with multiple versions like dwarf-fortress (e.g. dwarf-fortress-packages.dwarf-fortress_50_12) have similar issues, because there's not a well-defined "this package is defined at this line" when packages are generated dynamically from a JSON file of versions and hashes.

Looking at the package definitions, though, I'm honestly not sure how it ends up pointing to firefox.
