Hi @cer-cer, thanks for reporting here！

This error message appears, I guess because you aren't in folder mode, or you are just opening files, and there was no folder opened.

You need to create a folder first, then open this folder in VS Code, next is to run CMake: Quick Start command.

@cer-cer Do you have any other information about what you were doing when this reproduced? This command should not hit this error, it running this command should activate the extension, thanks!
