Checklist for a challenge run of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

The Challenge: My Custom Rules

This is an adaptation of a (much harder) challenge sheet I created, you can find the original here.

To do this challenge yourself, download this file, and do a find-and-replace to swap [x] for [ ] (with a space between the braces!), then open the file in Obsidian or your favorite markdown editor.

The primary goal is to complete every item on this checklist, without trading and without Pokémon Home.

This section lists some custom rules I'm setting for myself in this challenge. Most of them make the challenge easier, as it's pretty damn difficult to make the challenge any harder than it already is.

I've also changed the checklist to remove some of the less fun, more grindy aspects; I don't have to level every Pokémon to level 100 or max out their effort levels.

It should go without saying, this is a glitchless challenge. That means no using Ingo's release bug to acquire hundreds of grit items to sell.

Rule One: Devout Arceusist

Unlike the natives of this land, who worship their false god 'Sinnoh', I worship none other than our Lord and Creator Arceus.

To appease our great Lord, I must go above and beyond in my divine quest to Seek Out All Pokémon by completing as much of the challenge as is possible to do before facing Arceus.

Rule Two: Distracted Hero

I am easily sidetracked and constantly losing focus of my current goals.

I must find and complete all side-quests / requests before advancing the story, unless advancing the story is the only way to complete the side-quest.

Rule Three: No Signal

I just fell out of a wormhole and landed firmly in the past. I don't know how long in the past, but it's definitely before the internet was invented.

I am not allowed to use any online features in the game for any reason. This means that if I blackout, those items are gone.

Rule Four: Checkmate, Einstein

Returning to a point in spacetime to try things from a different angle? No mere mortal can do that!

Unless I have both Palkia and Dialga in my party, I am not allowed to save-reset. Not even if I KO a shiny.

The Nobles

The ones that get mad and glow yellow that you throw bags of food at.

The ones that blink into existence underneath you when you wanna go places.

The Stars

Your rank in the Survey Corps.

The Thief

Bagin's inventory upgrades. Total cost; ₽4,749,500.

To figure out how many you've bought, count up your inventory slots and subtract 21 (the starting 20 and the 1 free slot granted before facing Dialga and Palkia).

The Wardrobe

No lions or witches.

Check the box once you've bought everything in the category from Anthe's Clothier. Then uncheck the box once you realise she has even more unlocks that you have to buy. Then check it again once you've bought those too. And then, and then...
