@dosubot not stale @mauro-balades I think there's a mistake here with automation interfering with the issue's progress. This issue is still relevant as of version In Linux, instead of opening the website in a new tab, it will switch to the existing tab when you specifically select one of the open tabs and hold a modifier key and press enter ( Zen-NewTab-Bug.mp4If you follow the exact same steps as above in Windows, it will behave differently by opening the website in the existing tab rather than in a new one. Similarly, if you enter a new URL in the address bar via It was quite frustrating when I encountered this bug organically. |

Observed: URL opened in existing tab
Commentary
Firefox trained me to open tabs in 2 ways:
ctrl+t
ctrl+L
to go to the location bar, then pressingalt+enter
after typing in a URLThe problem with the recent UI change in Zen Browser getting rid of the new tab page is that both these ways look the same. Due to that visual confusion, I forget that I pressed
ctrl+t
and end up combiningctrl+t
withalt+enter
