Did you try changing browser? I had the same problem with Safari but then it worked with Firefox

Thank you for your response. I tried with Crome and Firefox, those that I have on my workstation. Both are latest. Can't be more mainstream then this ;) Dunno what is the problem, nothing obvious in the logs.

Yep, Actual Budget seems a very good piece of software but its installation process has always been problematic for me :(
This is the main reason I commented the discussion in the DietPi repo.
Unfortunately I'm not a software developer so, other than suggesting the Firefox workaround (that worked for me), I don't know how to help you.
Did the other installation methods (Yarn and Docker Compose) give you the same issue?
I assumed you used "plain" Docker (not Docker Compose) by reading the implementation details you wrote

Yes, its plain Docker as recommended.

I haven't dig deep into this yet. I only find that others have same problems.

A quick update: after having initially been able to install Actual server, I got stuck at your same point Initializing the connection to the local database...
So, I joined the Actual Budget Discord server where I could talk directly to the developers.
They told me that first I should have activated an HTTPS certificate for my Actual server and, once I did it, everything worked fine.
If, after creating the HTTPS certificate, you’ll still have issues, I suggest you to ask directly to their Discord server, they're very kind and helpful
