docker system events missing retention documentation #14886

  • How long are system events retained? Is the default 1000 lines as is eluded to in docker logs?
  • Can either retention or the number of logs stored be configured?
  • Are/can they be persisted?

There hasn't been any activity on this issue for a long time.
If the problem is still relevant, mark the issue as fresh with a /remove-lifecycle stale comment.
If not, this issue will be closed in 14 days. This helps our maintainers focus on the active issues.

This no longer as relevant to me personally, but system events seem under documented and thus likely under utilized or improperly utilized in the wild.
