Docker labels can be applied by arguments to docker build rather than just LABEL in Dockerfile #7462

This should have a reference to https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/commandline/build/#options as that's a simple way to provide labels to an image at build time - currently it only links to the https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/builder/#label which refers to how you label from within the Dockerfile.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue for a long time.
If the problem is still relevant, mark the issue as fresh with a /remove-lifecycle stale comment.
