Better workflow for share and notify

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

We have a shared Album where we upload Photos. The current Workflow:

• Record video / Take Picture
• go home because immich is only reachable on home W-LAN
• Wait for sync to Immich
• chose a shared Album
• Wait for processing the content on server
• notify other Family Members that something new and interesting is Uploaded

Is not working good enough for us.
I propose:

• Record video / Take Picture
• chose a shared Album
• notify others that something new and interesting is Uploaded
• go home
• Immich auto upload content
• Wait for processing the content on server
• Optional: auto download the content to other user
• user get notification.

that would streamline my actions to a short period of time. The most annoying part is that I could not see not uploaded files on the immich app.

Are you proposing to send a notification before assets have been uploaded? Because that seems like a recipe for confusion to me.

Sorry for the difficulties, my English is not the best.

A more visual and detailed description how it could work:

• What User 1 do on Immich on Phone:
  • I could see not uploaded Photos on my phone.
  • Be able to already assign them to an album.
  • Be able to create an Album comment
• --> I get a connection to my Imich server
• What happens now in Background on server:
  • Photos get uploaded
  • The Comment get uploaded
  • The server process the uploaded data
  • The task "Assign to Album" get done.
• What happens now in Background on User 2s Phone
  • Album Information get updated
  • the album comment get downloaded and a notification get created.
• What User 2 do on Immich on Phone:
  • Read Notification
  • switch to Immich (e.g. with a tab on the notification)
  • see the album comment and updated media content imediately.

So you want to inform people when new assets have been added to an album? @Mannshoch

that's less important than the other parts of my request.
What I request is that the album notification arrive on the other users notification bar the moment the user could see the content.

Because your request reads like a notification concern in a broader context. All you want is to notify the shared user when the shared content has been updated and accessible. The current workflow has a delay in notification?

My main concern and Pain at moment is that I have to wait between taking a photo and set an album.

The Notification is a followup but not that important because I have Whatsapp to Workaround this problem.
A small Pain here is. After I notified with Whatsapp User2, she open the app and have to wait until the new content appear on the immich app.

At moment User are not informed that I wrote a notification to an album. Because of my local installation on NAS (I access immich over a local IP) and no access to internet for immich, mail does not work.

Closing as a dupe of #4466/#12842. Syncing app data in the background so it's immediately available is being worked on.

Thanks for discuss this with me. yes the notification is a quality problem that only work if the other workflow problems are solved.

With immich you nailed a need I had for along time with my family. Thanks a lot for your work.
