MSSQL Extension Version:1.29.0
VSCode Version:1.97.2
OS Version: Windows_NT x64 10.0.14393

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. I don't know how to reproduce. It just happens. Occasionally a duplicate server just appears. You cannot connect to the "not connected" one. The image below shows a truncated version of the server names. Yes they are the same server. In the image the not connected one has the icon which shows it should be expanded like the connected one, but nothing is displayed.
  2. The first time I noticed this I tried to remove the duplicate connection which was "not connected" and it removed both connections.
  3. The second time this happened I clicked edit on the not connected server and the settings all looked correct in the connection dialog window. I clicked connect in the connection dialog and the duplicate server went away and the original one was then highlighted in the object explorer.
  4. I did not see any error messages in the problems, output, or any of the panes at the bottom.

Thanks for reporting this bug. It looks like a duplicate of #18854.
