Type: Bug

I have text expansions on my Mac (typing “ph” for example, expands that phrase to my phone number). This is disabled in the regular vscode. But, for the vs code insider with agent, I can’t get it to disable. It expands all of my Mac text expansions snippets (from the system->keyboard settings). Is there a way to force this to turn off? This does not happen in regular stable VSCode. Just vscode insider. Thanks!

Thank you for filing this and sorry you are running into this issue.

Mac text expansions

Please can you elaborate what you mean by this? Do you mean snippets or is this something contributed via a 3rd party extension.
Please can you share screenshots of the feature you are using and the setting you change to disable this feature.

It is in macos system prefrences "Text Replacements". This is not a feature you can disable. It is just off in vscode but it is using all of the text replacements in vscode insiders for some reason. I have no idea if there is some way to turn this off in vscode insider.

Here is where to find it in macos:

And, here is an example of a text replacement:

(which is great if you're writing an email or typing a text message. But, problematic if you're typing code in vscode). Thanks!

This! I just installed Insiders to play with Agent and the editor immediately started inserting text replacements. Every time I type "co" my son's name appears in the editor! It's driving me nuts. No obvious way to prevent it other than disabling replacements across my entire Apple ecosystem 🙄 I'm thankful that it only does it in Insiders, so I can go back to Stable where I don't have to hit ESC every other line of code...
