Hey,

We require approvers for all merge request. However, I'm looking for a way to require a renovate merge request to be approved before getting merged.
The issue arises as follows:
Say we have to branches myChanges and renovateChanges. myChanges contains some minor updates, and a minor package update to NewtonSoft, that I thought I might aswell do with these minor changes. renovateChanges also contains the update to "NewtonSoft".
Now myChanges gets merged into master. This will prompt the other merge request from renovateChanges to master, but it does not have a approver which is a MUST. The repo is configured to require an approver, but posting the renovateChanges -> master merge request and merging them through the Gitlab Api, seems to ignore these rules.
What I need is:
How do I specify that renovate NEEDS 2 approvers on any merge request.
Alternatively: How do I make it such that renovate does not merge any merge request if the packages are updated?
It will not suffice to update the repository settings to require 2 approvers, as we go by a 4-eyes approval. That means if I create a merge request, I have provided 2 eyes and it requires on approver to provide the last 2. For renovate, it requires two people to look at it.
Currently I'm using "requiredStatusChecks": ["required-approver"], but from what I found, it is deprecated

I'm still not sure I understand your description, but it doesn't sound like any such functionality exists
