vscode is very slow and sluggish with typescript - pop os

In recent weeks, I've been experiencing extreme slowness in TypeScript-related features in VS Code:

Typing any code causes long delays before IntelliSense or diagnostics appear.

Linting and error reporting takes 30–60 seconds to show even basic syntax errors (e.g., random gibberish code).

Auto-import suggestions take a similarly long time or fail to load entirely.

This issue started suddenly and is affecting small TypeScript projects with no recent config or dependency changes.

I tried deleting vscode entirley (with all the extensions) but the problem presists

Experiencing the same thing. I thought maybe it was Windsurf's Codeium extension that was affecting it. I disabled all my extensions (only 4 by the way), and still experience long load time. My main issue is with the intellisense that suggests where to import an element. For example, typing <Box, I have to wait 10 - 15 seconds before a popup showing to import from @mui/material. It's faster for me to scroll to the top and just type import { Box } from '@mui/material' than to wait for the intellisense popup.

Collecting performance information is such a PITA. Doesn't VS code have a log that constantly collects data? Or maybe your developers should have projects in different programming languages, preferrably large ones, that they can open in VS code and personally experience it for themselves.

Had a similar issue last week with the latest update, as soon as I reinstalled 1.100.3, all problems went away. Lesson here is: don't always update. In fact, turn off updates...

@UrielA01 Can you try collecting the TS Server log so we can investigate :

1. Set "typescript.tsserver.log": "verbose",
2. Restart VS Code and reproduce the problem
3. In VS Code, run the TypeScript: Open TS Server log command
4. This should open a large log file called tsserver.log

If you can share the log, I also take a look to see if anything stands out
