Terminal Not working

My terminal is not working, despite uninstalling and re-installing VS Code. I have tried to make Git bash, cmd, powershell as my default profile. still there is no change. Help kindly.

What does it mean "Terminal not working"?

Any step to reproduce the issue and, please, add the info requested when you open the issue.

Oh. When I open VS Code on my laptop, the terminal is supposed to load and have some text...
For me it always appears blank, the cursor unmoving. I can't write code directly on my VS and have to rely on external cmd which works well anyway. I'm just concerned with why it appears blank. I have tried to get to the root of the matter, but it's like I'm going down a rabbit hole.
