Hi, I’m Subrahmanya Gaonkar, currently based in Bengaluru. I’m a Machine Learning and Deep Learning Engineer passionate about solving real-world problems through data-driven solutions. My work primarily focuses on areas like computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), and creating scalable AI systems that make a real impact, especially in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and technology.

Recently, I interned at Vizzhy (HanoomanAI), where I worked on some exciting AI-driven projects. One of my notable contributions was developing ArogyaMitra, a medical chatbot trained on specialized medical data. Using tools like Pinecone, Llama2, and Langchain, I managed to achieve a 95% accuracy rate in responding to medical queries and significantly reduced response latency by deploying the model locally. I also created a WhatsApp Chat Analyzer, which provided insights into chat behavior using NLP and data visualization, enhancing user engagement by 25%.

Academically, I’m pursuing a B.Tech (Hons) in Computer Science - Data Science, with a minor in Finance, at Vidyashilp University.

One of my most impactful projects has been Arecaverse, an AI-powered areca nut quality classification tool. This project automates the sorting process with an 89% accuracy rate, reducing manual labor by up to 90%. It has real-world implications for farmers in Karnataka, helping them save on labor costs and improve market pricing accuracy. I also worked on building a PUBG Matchmaking Database using MySQL, where I designed a scalable database that optimized player pairing and significantly improved data processing efficiency.

Additionally, I’m active in the open-source community. I’ve contributed to the CPython documentation, particularly the mimetypes module, and worked on various projects like Hands-on LLMs, Khoj AI etc.
