This PR only fixes the linked issue but raises some related questions relating to the purpose and use of second windows, in particular which actions (if any) should be disallowed in second windows? Allowing everything creates a lot of complications - it would be easier for second windows to be limited to editing documents in the currently active project and not be allowed to load, change or create projects.
