MainAxisAlignment.SPACE_BETWEEN doesn`t work in Row

def el_row_between(self, text, text2):
        return ft.Row(
            controls=[
                ft.Container(content=ft.Text(text), height=self.size, width=self.size, bgcolor=ft.Colors.GREEN_50),
                ft.Container(content=ft.Text(text2), height=self.size, width=self.size, bgcolor=ft.Colors.GREEN_50),
            ],
            alignment=ft.MainAxisAlignment.SPACE_BETWEEN,
        )


col_0 = ft.Column(controls=[
                self.el_row_between("A", "B"),
            ], )
cont = ft.Container(content=col_0)

return cont

this code works as expected, both elements are located against opposite sides
but when I contain it into Row it looses this property

row = ft.Row(controls=[cont])
return row
