Poetry as one of the virtual environment type

Suggestion:

• Currently we have venv and conda as options while creating virtual environment in Python through Vscode.
• Shall we add Poetry as one of the virtual environment type

Yes. The older environment tool I was using had this feature. I do not want to create .venv directories. I prefer the storage mechanism Poetry defaults to.

The update is great except for this message popping up despite me having the plugin installed system-wide.

And the plugin should not be necessary for shell activation (and it is not exactly recommended by the Poetry team which is why they removed it). You should instead do something like eval $(poetry env activate) or since you likely have the path already source PATH-TO-VENV/bin/activate. Or you can get the path by a call to poetry env info --path.

On Gentoo at the moment, when Poetry is installed globally via Portage poetry self show plugins does not give proper output. Bug 956751

 $ poetry self show plugins

Invalid marker for 'platform_system': >= Linux

If you can fix the plugin to not rely on poetry self show plugins that would be a better long-term solution. I will have to stick with donjayamanne.python-environment-manager until then.
