Unable to create nickname on contacts

After skype went down, there is a complete mess to use teams for business.
Please look into how we can change the nickname on contacts so that we can make our own system for different companies etc.

Thanks for reporting this.
As of now, Microsoft Teams does not support setting nicknames or renaming contacts, which was available in Skype for Business. This has been shared as feedback by several users (as in issue #1658), but no official solution has been provided yet.

✅ Workaround:
You can use “Add to Favorites” or create custom contact groups to help organize contacts based on companies or categories.
While not a full replacement, it can make contact management a bit easier.
