User entered Entity names are being overridden by useless shortened names that are now forced on us.

This looks like more of the arrogant “we know what you want better than you do” coding that seems to be rampant in home assistant.
What possible reason and justification could there be to deliberately write code that mutilates what is shown for a specifically user defined name?
If a user goes to the trouble of entering a name of THEIR choice, there is NO valid reason to EVER change what is displayed to be different from what was entered.
The entire naming system is already a sick joke that’s confusing, inconsistent and often downright hostile, now it’s taken to a new level!
